Wired: An FBI Story

by Glenn Painter

Small time crook and drug dealer, Tommy Dye from Chicago, is arrested for burglary. While awaiting trial in the most violent jail in the U.S. he becomes involved with a nympho female sheriff. When the affair gets out of hand, Tommy is forced to report her to Internal Affairs. He also discovers that she is supplying drugs to gang members in the jail. Tommy has to decide if he is “rogue” enough to help set her up for arrest.

Meanwhile, the FBI wants to recruit Tommy to gather information against a sadist ex-cop, Steve Manning, who has been arrested for murder. The risk? Tommy needs to wear a wire and testify. The reward? Witness protection for Tommy and his girlfriend and a modification of his prison sentence.

This story is full of suspense, crime, drugs, police corruption and sex. There is also a lot of “dark humor” to keep the reader entertained.

The book was written from notes made by Tommy Dye, the man who actually lived it. His heroic bravery in becoming an informant for the FBI comes to life in this story.

After Tommy risks his life for a chance at freedom, what will happen to him? Will the female sheriff “get even” with him? Or will his life end in the hands of the jail's drug lords or a lunatic former cop?

Glenn Painter published Beyond The Sentence in 2014. He just completed “Wired – An FBI Story” which will be available in early Spring 2017. There will be two sequels “Wired II” and “Wired III”. He is also working on other books to be released at a later date.
